How to Request Permissions for a Service App

After submitting a Service App for approval in ORCA, a developer must request access for permissions. The ORCA API offers three (3) different types of permissions: Inbox Access, Patient Access, and Calendar Access.

Each permission has its own set of requirements and disallowed usages. Disallowed usage may result in the revocation of permissions and removal of the Service App from the ORCA Marketplace. It is also important to only request permissions the app will use, otherwise, permissions may be denied or revoked.

To request permissions:

  • Navigate to the “My Service Apps” tab on the ORCA Developer Portal

  • From the dropdown menu, select the app you wish to request permissions for

  • Select “Permissions” from the left sidebar to review available permissions, their requirements, and disallowed usages

  • Choose a permission then click “Request Access

  • The ORCA team will receive your request and begin the review process

Requesting Multiple Permissions

Some Service Apps may need to obtain more than one permission. However, even if multiple permissions are requested, each request will be reviewed individually given that some permissions have stricter requirements than others and may require additional documentation or certifications. Please allow time for the ORCA team to process and review each request.
